Previous Conferences The 2009 Long Island/New York City Emergency Management Conference, the 16th annual such event, was titled, “What’s New - What’s Next: The Status of Emergency Management in 2009: Planning + Preparing = Readiness to React and Respond.”The Conference topics and presentations examined all types of emergency management situations and the challenges, the successes, and the lessons learned. These discussions helped anyone in business or the emergency management community who deals with unforeseen events prepare and plan in order to be ready to react and respond to emergency management situations. At the 2009 conference, we explored a wide range of topics, including security for high-visibility events, weather emergencies, responding to airline disasters, fires in hospitals, as well as other topical emergency management issues. Once again, this conference was sold out and was a “must go to” event for individuals in business or the emergency management community who deals with unforeseen events.
