Welcome to the Long Island/New York City Emergency Management Conference 2012. Our theme, “Learning from the Past; Planning for the Future” will explore the lessons learned from events of the past year with a focus on weather impacts from Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene. The conference, attended annually by approximately 650 emergency managers from across the tri-state area, will also feature presentations on Homeland Security, the utilization of social media in emergency communications and harbor safety and security following incidents domestically and abroad involving water vessels. We welcome your attendance at this year’s event!
